Innovation Award: Winners 2022

At the start of Kind + Jugend, the world's most important trade fair for the baby and toddler outfitting sector, on 8 September 2022, numerous international trade fair guests were drawn into the halls from the very first hour. The fair was opened by Koelnmesse Managing Director Oliver Frese, who also handed out the coveted awards to the winners in the Innovation Award. 

For the first time, in addition to the previously known categories corresponding to the exhibition focal points of the fair, the theme of sustainability was now also represented. "World of Sustainability" gives special visibility to sustainable products and thus to an important concern of the industry. The jury, consisting of international trade journalists, safety and industry experts, selected 24 nominated products from 80 submitted proposals. Nine companies were ultimately able to receive an Innovation Award.

All winners and nominations are exhibited in an attractive special show during the fair (Hall 10.2. B 50, C 59).

In total, around 500 suppliers from around 44 countries will be exhibiting at Kind + Jugend 2022 this year.

Training potty with backrest. The potty has a lid that can be used as a step stool.The potty has a non-slip soft material on the bottom and on the lid.The hard plastic parts have an antibacterial function that kills 99.9% of common bacteria such as E. Coli. The tray inside can be removed for easy cleaning. When we designed the potty, we wanted a visually simple design with sleek lines. The traditional way of designing potties did not allow for this, as a double wall is required to support both the tray inside and the base. We "flipped" the design so that there is only a single outer wall, giving the product a much lighter visual expression. The potty then fits well with the design language of other Mininor products, such as the bathtub.

They consist of geometrical wooden elements that are stuck together with the help of sensory silicone connections and are thus designed for open-ended building. BAVVIC, the new toy that carries attributes of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mat) toy and aids in developing interest in education, through geometrical shapes and abstract forms. BAVVIC are gender-neutral and suitable for all ages, especially children with sensory disorders. The toys promote the development of spatial imagination, decision-making as well as creative thinking and concentration and social relations. During production, emphasis was placed on minimising and reusing production waste.
