"During the first half of 2021, clear signs of recovery have been observed. GDP registered a growth of 8.8% compared to the first half of 2020, driven mainly by the dynamics in household consumption (increase of 12.3%) and investment (13.7%)," said Sandra Forero, executive president of Camacol.
For Forero, "so far in 2021 the building activity has had a formidable recovery. In the second quarter of the year, the sectoral GDP had an increase of 16% per year, to close the first half with a solid 6%. As for the leading indicators of the sector, the commercialization of housing reached 154,230 units in January-August, which represents an increase of 34.2% compared to the same period a year ago. If the pace of sales continues, the record recorded in 2020 would be surpassed."
