As of 8:00 a.m. on August 13, the cumulative power generation of the Cambodia Ganzai Hydropower Station under China Power Construction Corporation has exceeded 200 million kWh this year. The power station has been operating safely and stably for 4,593 consecutive days since it was put into operation.
Since the beginning of this year, the Ganzai Project Company has adhered to the "five elements" control as the core, actively implemented the lean management requirements of "making good use of every cubic meter of water, generating every kilowatt-hour of electricity, and collecting every penny", and took multiple measures to strengthen management and improve quality and efficiency. In July, the Ganzai Power Station area ushered in the first strong concentrated rainfall this year. The power station made full use of the water from this rainfall to organize more power generation and generate electricity well. The power generation in July reached more than 85 million kWh, completing 129.5% of the monthly plan. Ganzai Company is committed to the concept of efficiently serving the power needs of the local country. In the first half of this year, it completed the power supply and guarantee tasks during the severe power shortage of Cambodia's dry season power grid, made contributions to the stability of the power grid, and was recognized and praised by the Cambodian National Electricity Company.
While doing a good job in power production, the Ganzai project actively fulfilled its social responsibilities. During the water shortage season in the dry season every year, the power station provides high-quality and sufficient living water for downstream cities and people; in the rainy season, the power station uses the larger storage capacity and better flood interception and storage capabilities to provide safety for downstream cities and residents. In July this year, facing the heavy flood caused by continuous heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of the Ganzai River, the Ganzai Power Station fully played its role in flood control and prevention. The reservoir effectively intercepted the flood and firmly protected the safety of the people in the downstream cities, which was widely praised by the local society. (Zhao Zhihong)
